Corvette Performance Packages

Corvette C7 and C8 builds done right in Queen Creek, Arizona, from a dialed-in street tune to a full forced-induction package on our in-house dyno.

The LT1 in the C7 and the LT2 in the mid-engine C8 are two of the best platforms Chevy has ever handed enthusiasts, and both respond beautifully to a smart, staged plan. At APA Custom Shop we treat your Corvette like the purpose-built machine it is: we start with a real conversation about how you drive it and where you want it to go, then we build in the right order so every dollar and every part actually works together. Whether you want crisper throttle response and a better exhaust note or a boosted setup that changes the whole character of the car, we build it on our own Dynojet dyno and back it with decades of combined automotive and motorsport experience.

What we build for the LT1 and LT2 Corvette

The C7 Stingray and Grand Sport carry the LT1, and the C8 Stingray brought the LT2 into a mid-engine, dual-clutch layout that changed the game. Both engines are strong and responsive from the factory, and both love a well-planned combination of tuning and hardware. We work Corvettes on our in-house Dynojet dyno so the results are measured, not guessed, and everything from fabrication to final calibration happens under one roof.

The C8 in particular rewards a shop that understands its electronics. ECU access and unlock requirements on the C8 have shifted over the model years, so the right first step is a quick conversation about your exact year and how the car is optioned. Tell us your platform and your goals and we will lay out a build that fits both.

  • ECU tuning with HP Tuners, dialed in on our chassis dyno
  • Long-tube headers with cat-back or axle-back exhaust
  • Cam packages for a bigger, nastier naturally aspirated powerband
  • Supercharger and turbo installs for serious forced-induction power
  • Engine builds and swaps when you want to go beyond bolt-ons
  • Supporting fueling, cooling, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and alignments

Tuning, bolt-ons, then boost: a staged package idea

The smartest way to build a Corvette is in stages, where each step stands on its own and sets up the next. That keeps the car drivable at every point and makes sure you are never paying for parts that fight each other. The exact stages and parts vary by platform, budget, and how far you want to take it, so think of this as the shape of a plan rather than a fixed menu.

Where you stop is entirely up to you. Plenty of owners are thrilled with a clean tune and a good exhaust, while others keep climbing all the way to a boosted, built combination. We will help you pick a stopping point that matches your goals and quote the exact build from there.

  • Start with an ECU tune to sharpen the factory calibration and throttle response
  • Add bolt-ons like headers, exhaust, and intake with a matching retune
  • Step up to cam and valvetrain work for a bigger naturally aspirated punch
  • Go forced induction with a supercharger or turbo, full supporting mods, and a custom tune

Why the tune is the heart of every Corvette build

You can bolt great parts onto an LT1 or LT2 all day, but the tune is what ties them together and turns hardware into real, repeatable, and safe power. A custom calibration is where fueling, timing, and throttle behavior get matched to your exact combination, and it is the difference between a car that just makes noise and one that pulls clean and holds a healthy safety margin under load.

That is why we tune on our own Dynojet dyno rather than guessing on the street. We tune with HP Tuners and also unlock Mopar ECUs for our other customers, so we know these systems deeply, and we offer remote tuning when a dyno visit is not practical. We work with proven partners including Texas Speed and Performance, RideTech, and Dynojet so the parts, the platform, and the calibration all line up.

Let us spec your exact Corvette build

We are an owner-run shop of genuine gearheads, and we would rather tell you the honest truth about your Corvette than upsell you into a build that does not fit how you drive. Our crew, folks like Sean, Tiffany, and Jared, will walk you through your options in plain language and help you prioritize the parts that actually move the needle for your goals.

Because no two Corvettes and no two owners are the same, we quote your exact build after we understand your platform, your year, and where you want to end up. Give us a call at (602) 762-4916 or stop by 22375 S Scotland Ct Suite 105 in Queen Creek, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:30, and ask about current options for your C7 or C8.

Questions

Corvette Performance Packages — FAQ

Can you tune a C8 Corvette with the LT2?

Yes, the C8 is squarely in our wheelhouse. We tune with HP Tuners on our in-house Dynojet dyno and offer remote tuning as well. The one thing to know is that C8 ECUs and their unlock requirements have changed over the years, so support can vary by model year and how your car left the factory. Call us at (602) 762-4916 with your year and any mods and we will tell you exactly what unlock and tuning options are available for your specific car right now.

Do I need a tune after adding headers or an exhaust to my C7?

For a simple axle-back or cat-back exhaust, a tune is not strictly required, but you will leave gains and drivability on the table without one. Once you step up to long-tube headers, high-flow cats, or an intake, a matching calibration is what actually turns those parts into repeatable power and clean throttle response. We tune to your exact combination on the dyno so the fueling and timing are dialed for the hardware you are running, not a generic file.

Can you build my Corvette for a supercharger or turbo?

Absolutely, forced induction is one of our favorite ways to wake up an LT1 or LT2. A boosted build is more than bolting on a blower or turbo kit though. We plan the supporting fueling, cooling, clutch or converter, and drivetrain so the whole car can live with the added power, then finish it with a full custom tune on the dyno. Every forced-induction combination is different, so we quote your exact build after we talk through your goals and your platform.

Do you offer remote tuning for my Corvette, or does it have to come in?

Both. We do remote tuning for Corvette owners who cannot make it to Queen Creek, and it works well for a lot of bolt-on street setups. For bigger builds, forced induction, or anything where we want to verify air-fuel and knock under load, we always recommend time on our in-house Dynojet dyno so we can confirm the numbers and the safety margin rather than estimate them.
